“The sea from the sky”

As a child, when I played on the shore of the Mediterranean, I wondered why the sea water in a bottle was transparent. At what point had it lost its blue color? It took me years to understand that the Sea rests on the Earth and looks towards the Sky. Understand its behavior, its movement, contemplate it, look for its essence and finally take it to Painting. Forget what you have learned, paint like someone who picks up a brush for the first time, putting the pigment in the same way that the physical laws of nature make possible the changing fluidity of water, its transparency, the effects of light and its harmony of color. I know in advance that this task will be largely unattainable, but if at least some trace or stain remains of this attempt, these Mediterranean works will make sense.
